At LabelExpo Europe 2023, VeePee Graphic Solutions, India, successfully acquired two XPS Crystal systems (LED UV exposure) and additional CDI 4260 and CDI 4836 digital flexo CTP imagers. P. Jaichandra discussed with Noel D’Cunha the company’s business strategy and digital short-run print plans. VeePee faced challenging times due to the global economic slowdown and political crises in Sri Lanka, delaying technology upgrades. The smaller format will go to Sri Lanka, while the larger one will be installed at a new location in India, bringing the total to five. VeePee’s growth is driven by embracing change, adopting new technology, and setting up facilities in strategic locations to better serve their pan-India customer base. Although they also use Kodak systems, Esko’s proven lams plate technology fits their business model.
VeePee works with DuPont and MacDermid plates and is exploring digital short-run printing to complement flexo. Despite challenges, they continue to invest in technology upgrades and closer customer proximity.
