Bengaluru-based Veepee Graphic presents pre-mounted plates.
Veepee Graphic Solutions, a Bengaluru-based flexo pre-press house, showcased pre-mounted flexo printing plates for corrugation printing at the SinoCorrugated-IndiaCorr Expo 2019, held at India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida, from 5 to 7 September 2019. Jaichandra, director of Veepee Graphic Solutions, noted that the best part of the show was its focused visitors, who were already knowledgeable about polymer plates, eliminating the need for product introductions.
Veepee was the first to market pre-mounted plates for corrugation four years ago, though initial acceptance was slow. However, in the past year, there has been a noticeable shift, with more converters opting for pre-mounted plates, especially for four-color, half-tone, and half-graphic jobs where manual pasting proved inadequate.
Currently, demand for pre-mounted plates is around 10%, with growing interest. These plates streamline operations by allowing converters to eliminate their pasting departments, improving accuracy. Although Veepee charges a 10% premium for these plates, they offer a 15%-20% cost savings on plate expenses. Additionally, Veepee performs bevel cuts on the plates to prevent edge printing issues. Jaichandra also mentioned the positive reception of the Veepee app launched earlier this year, despite having a smaller user base.
